COTTONWOOD HOUSE HISTORIC SITE

Located 26 kilometres east of Quesnel on the Gold Rush Trail to Barkerville Historic Town, Cottonwood House offers heritage interpretation, accommodation and food to residents and visitors alike. The provincial historic site is wheelchair accessible, including 3 kilometres of trails that loop the site alongside the Cottonwood River.

Built in 1860, this roadhouse once provided accommodation, meals and provisions to miners and travellers on their way to Barkerville or Quesnel. It's now one of the last remaining roadhouses in British Columbia.

The entire site sits on 26 acres, including various heritage buildings such as a double barn, general store, interpretive building and horse barn.

There are a number of activities at Cottonwood House such as observation of animals, building tours, walks, interpretation, horseshoes, chip and putt golf, frisbee golf and more! Special events are held annually.

For full details, season hours and special events visit the Cottonwood House website.
