Cariboo Gold Rush

Quesnel Mural Group - Maureen Hobbs Wheeler, Keith Prestone, Leigh Cassidy, Terry Bourdeleau. 

This Mural Completed in 2023 in partnership with Lomelo Holdings and City of Quesnel. Based on the original Painting “Cariboo Gold Rush” by Maureen and her photograph of sunflowers. During the painting of this mural, we noticed there were House sparrows nesting at the top of the wall, and we took great care not to disturb them, they sang to us throughout the project and Maureen painted some into the scene as a tribute. As you walk through the corridor the sparrow song, and live trees in front really make this mural come alive.
