If you have a dog that likes people and is well socialized TARAPS (Therapy and Reading Assistance Pets) is looking for Volunteers for their Literacy and Assisted Living Program. You will work one-on-one with students in schools helping them to read to your dog. The Assisted Living Program involves visiting seniors in Care Homes or in the hospital. Your dog will be professionally assessed, and you will be asked to take a training session through Northern Health. If you have other suitable pets, such as a horse, donkey, or cat, these may be accepted for the program as well. There are also opportunities on the board that may interest you such as fundraising.
