Quesnel Youth Slo Pitch is a fun, inclusive introduction to softball. Practices are a learn-as-we-play model. Children learn by doing. Multiple coaches will be on the field at all times to assist the children in gameplay. We will begin each event day skill-building drills, and games, we will then break up the group into teams and begin a scrimmage. Youth pitchers will be introduced gradually, and batters will have the choice of taking additional pitches, or bat from a T once they have 2 strikes, as our goal is to get the ball in play. Children will try playing multiple positions and everyone will bat. Equipment required: glove, cleats, batting helmet, water bottle. Fielder's masks are highly recommended (and will be provided to pitchers and infielders). If equipment cost is a barrier, we have loaner gloves and batting helmets available.
