The Whole Child Early Learning Centre opened in January 2016 with a mission to ignite passion, awe, and wonder through play. Providing full day care for children aged 3 months to 5 years as well as afterschool care for children in kindergarten to grade 2. The Whole Child is dedicated to providing exceptional care for future innovators, doctors, architects, and more! The Whole Child Early Learning Centre's philosophy is a delightful blend of inspiring ideas from incredible pioneers in early learning such as Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Steiner, Emmi Picker, and Te Whariki.

Their 20,000 square foot playground allows for an outdoor classroom like no other in our community! They believe in the power of nature, fostering connections to the outdoors for the mental health and physical well-being of both Educators and children. In addition to this intentional environment, they also specialize in providing a safe, social space for neurodiverse children alongside their peers. Every child brings their own unique strengths and our mission is to discover, support and help them grow these abilities. By celebrating our differences, we empower young children for success. Our inclusive approach fosters empathy, understanding and a sense of belonging, helping cultivate a kinder future for everyone. The centre has a full team of staff that greet the parents and children when they walk through the doors and to keep the kids active and safe throughout their day.

The Whole Child Early Learning Centre provides the option of early arrival for shift workers between 6:45 AM - 7:30 AM and is a member of the Early Childhood Educators of BC.

Meet Judy Sutton

Judy loves living in Quesnel. She finds the people are friendly and always willing to lend a hand to help each other out. In the winter of 2016, Judy fulfilled one of her lifelong ambitions and became the owner of The Whole Child Early Learning Centre. Early childhood education is a field Judy has always loved and has been passionate about. "I wanted to create a centre that I would be proud to call my own," said Judy, "every childcare centre and program in Quesnel is different, it gives parents an opportunity to align their family values with a similar centre." She is proud of her business and of how it has grown with the community. Judy appreciates all the wonderful people and families she gets to meet through her business, "You get to know all the different people and all the unique things they have to offer."

When Judy isn't busy managing The Whole Child Early Learning Centre she loves to spend quality time with her two daughters.
